Thelma Margaret Anderson Morris, born October 14, 1909 in Choctaw, OK, quietly entered into rest on February 16, 2002 in her Oklahoma City home. Born to Cassie and Newton Hughes, Thelma was raised on a farm with her two sisters Lois and Betty. She was blessed by a 30 year marriage to her high school sweetheart, Paul Anderson, and together they raised four children. During her 92 years, Thelma always put her family first and was the third parent to many of her grandchildren. In her spare time, she became a proficient baker, quiltmaker, seamstress, oil painter and doll maker, taking many prizes at the state fair. She also found enjoyment in many other artistic activities including crocheting, china painting and ceramics. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by husbands Paul Anderson and Albert Morris, and daughter Kathryn Spear. She is survived by daughter Betty and her husband Tom Smith of Stillwater, son Kenneth Anderson and his wife Connie of OKC, and son and caregiver Richard Anderson of OKC. Thelma had seven grandchildren: Nancy Shurley, Janie Burroughs, Jill Hough, James Oliver, Jay Anderson, Jodie Boucher and Terry Noel; eight great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Services will be Wednesday, February 20, 2 p.m. at Bill Eisenhour Funeral Home, 8805 NE 23. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Vista Care Hospice.
