Motel Owner
Fatally Shot

A Midwest City motel owner was shot and killed in front of his businesses early Saturday morning, apparently by someone who lured the an outside by honking his car horn, police said.

Stanley Gene Hall, 40, of 7032 NE 23, was pronounced dead at the scene of a gunshot wound in the chest.

Police said witnesses told them Hall stepped outside Gene's Motel, at the NE 23 address when he heard a car horn shortly after 3 am. Hall and his family lived in a home adjacent to the motel, officers said.

Police said Hall's family told them that several minutes after Hall went outside, they heard a shot and found Hall slumped on the ground.

Investigator said they could not immediately determine a motive. They said there was no indication any money was taken. They said they believe a brief argument may have preceded the shooting. There were no suspects.
