Dorothy A. Swint was born June 10, 1917 in Cement, OK to George and Mary Lemon. She graduated from Capitol Hill High School. She lived in New Braunfels and San Marcos, Texas before returning to Oklahoma City. She married Owen Ernest Swint in 1936 and four children were born to that union. Dorothy worked for Sears Roebuck for several years before establishing her own bookkeeping business in Stratford. She had many hobbies including gardening, painting, doll making, and making handmade items for her family. She was a strong Christian who lived her faith.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one son, Dale Swint.

Surviving relatives include two sons, Brig. General David Swint and wife Sharon of Colorado Springs, CO and Joe Swint of Stratford, OK; one daughter, Marsha McGehee and husband, Frank of Edmond, OK Dorothy was truly a grand grandmother to M/Sgt David Swint , Jr. and wife Teresa of Fayetteville, N.C., Bill Swint and wife Jennifer of Washington, D.C., Kris and Sarah Swint both of Colorado Springs, CO, Brian Swint and wife Danyel of Houston, TX, Robert Swint of Pauls Valley, OK, Neisha Nanney and husband Michael of Pauls Valley, Michael McGehee and wife Christy of Oklahoma City and Wes McGehee of Edmond, OK.

She is also survived by ten wonderful great grandchildren. Her strong "get things done" and moral attitude have left a big influence on her children and their families. She will always be remembered as "the best mother ever" by her children. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimers Association, 1 North Hudson Ste #800, Oklahoma City, Ok 73102.

Funeral services will begin at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 21st, 2004 in the chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
