MIDWEST CITY

William Dewitt Gibson III, “Bill” age 65 passed away February 4, 2012. He was born February 1, 1947 in New Orleans, LA to Dr. and Mrs. John W. Gibson. Bill served our country during the Vietnam Era. He was awarded the Bronze Service Star, National Defense Service Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was pastor for 37 years, 18 of which were at Life Line Baptist Church in Midwest City. He enjoyed many things throughout life such as Karate- black belt, training dolphins, writing cowboy poetry, horses, and was a shrimper, but above all he loved God, his family and the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife Betty of the home; son: Douglas Gibson and wife Dyndi of Moore, OK, daughters: Elizabeth Myers and husband Michael of Auburn, WA, Kathy Bagwell and husband Steven of Nicoma Park, OK, grandchildren: Jeremy, Mikyla, Noah, Ainsley, Anna. Preceded in death by his parents: Dr. and Mrs. John W. Gibson, brother: Johnny Gale Gibson; daughter: Kristl Leroy Gibson.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, February 10, 2012 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Kolb Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers: donations may be made to Lifeline Baptist Church of Midwest City, OK.

Interment February 10, 2012 at Kolb Cemetery.
