Jerry Von Dossey Sr. 64, of Shawnee

Jerry Von Dossey Sr., 64, of Shawnee, passed away Oct. 28, 2011, at his home in Shawnee after a battle with cancer.

He was born in Idabel on Nov. 8, 1946, to A.B. and Edra (Tillery) Dossey.

Jerry attended school at Jones High School.

He married Marilyn on Feb. 14, 2011, in Shawnee.

Jerry was a supervisor and loyal employee for 35 years at Wood Group Pressure Control, which was an oilfield manufacturing supply company, as a high pressure welder.

He was of the apostolic faith and a member of the Jones IOOF.

Jerry loved to ride motorcycles with his wife, fishing and raising horses. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends.

Jerry was a very loving person who touched the hearts of everyone who knew him. He was loved by everyone he came in contact with and there has never been a bad word said about him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Linda Marie Dossey; and his brother-in-law, Lester Paul Warren.

Those left to cherish his memory and wonderful smile are his loving wife, Marilyn, of the home; his children, Sherri, Jerry Jr., Becky, Phillip, Sheri and Justin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Wanda Haddox, Tiny Warren and Mike Dossey; and many other family and friends.

The family wishes to thank all the family and friends and all of the people he worked with who were there with their support and help. A special thank you to Heartland Hospice for the wonderful job they did in taking care of him.

Service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 1, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Vance Bowman officiating. Burial will follow at Jones
IOOF Cemetery in Jones under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
