Chattie Houston Welchel, age 64, of 947 Edgewood Drive, Choctaw, OK, passed away Tuesday.

Services are at 1 o'clock Thursday, Bill Eisenhour SE Chapel. Burial at Arlington Cemetery.

 He was born December 4, 1917 in Wapanucka, Oklahoma, & came to Midwest City in 1948. He was a member of the American Legion & VFW in Midwest City. He retired as a carpenter from Tinker Air Force Base. Survived by his wife Iva of the home, 4 sons Jurl Houston Welchel of Newalla, Don Welchel of Spencer, Dale Welchel & Dennis Welchel both of Midwest City, 2 daughters Christine Perkins of Choctaw, & Nancy O'Hagan of Nicoma Park , 2 brothers Phil Welchel & Clarence Welchel both of Chickasha, 4 sisters Ruby Smith, Opal Sumner, Lorene Webb, & Omega Moseley all of Chickasha, 19 grandchildren & 2 great-grandchildren.
