Thurma Lerae (Richmond) Morrison was born September 23, 1920 in LeeRay, TX to Pearl and Thurman Richmond. She passed away Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living Center in Oklahoma City, OK.

She is survived by her son, R.C. Morrison, and his wife, Vicki; daughter, Lois Mitchell, and her husband, Bob; granddaughter, J.P. Morrison; granddaughter, Emily McLarty, and her husband, Patrick; and great-grandson, Hank McLarty.

Lerae was devoted to her beloved husband, Bob Morrison, for 63 years prior to Bob's death in 2004. She was a smart, beautiful and generous person with a terrific sense of humor, who touched many lives. Lerae lived in Nicoma Park , OK for 59 years and was an active member in Nicoma Park Christian Church (now Faith Community Christian Church in Choctaw). She had a perfect pitch singing voice that sustained her church choir for many years, was a Sunday school teacher for 50+ years and church secretary for many years, a founding member of the Nicoma Park chapter of the Eastern Star, and donated countless hours of volunteer service to many agencies and people in need. Lerae competitively participated in numerous sports in her youth and was an avid sports fan. Special thanks to Karen Ross, M.D. at OU Physicians for her compassionate and tender care of Lerae and her family for many years, to Good Shepherd Hospice for their services at the end of Lerae's life and to all of Lerae's family and friends (especially Billie McWillams at Brighton Gardens) who cared for her so dearly.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Community Christian Church, 100 S. Choctaw Road, Choctaw, OK 73020. Services will be held Tuesday, June 22, 2010 @ 3:00 p.m. at the Mausoleum Chapel at Arlington Memory Gardens, 3400 N. Midwest Blvd., Midwest City, Oklahoma.
