William Edward Wheat, 81, died Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Integris Baptist Medical Center following a sudden illness. He was born on May 13, 1928, to Bonnie Lee and Homer Roy Wheat, in Cromwell, Oklahoma. He grew up in Seminole, Oklahoma, and graduated from Seminole High School in 1946. He immediately enlisted in the Navy and served two years at the end of WWII. Upon discharge, he enrolled at East Central University and obtained a degree in accounting in 1952.

He was married to Donnella Sue Baird on August 18, 1956. In January 1957, he began his career as an Industrial Sales Representative for Snap-On Tools Corp., and retired in 1987 after thirty years of service.

He is preceded in death by his parents Bonnie Lee and Homer Roy Wheat, and his only sister Lillian Reeves. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Donnella Sue Wheat one son, David Edward Wheat and wife Missy of Stratford, Oklahoma one daughter, Tamara Lynn Ribera of Edmond and two granddaughters, Jerika Lynn Wheat and Allison Rachele Ribera.

Services will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2:30 pm at the Edmond Church of Christ under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Search Ministries, Edmond Oklahoma.

Matthews Funeral Home advised he was  buried at Gracelawn Cemetery, Edmond, OK. [01-20-2009]
