Donald Hugh Shelby, 87 died Thursday, October 13, 2005, at the Harrah Nursing Center, Harrah, Oklahoma. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia (Pat) Marie Shelby, his youngest son, Eric Shelby, and brothers, Forrest, Ed, Bob, Jerry, Raymond, Floyd, Walter and Bud. He is survived by sons, Don L. (Hoot) Shelby and wife Joy, Gary Shelby and wife Linda, Paul Shelby and wife Barbara. He leaves behind five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Don served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He worked at Tinker AFB for 32 years and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #541 in Nicoma Park where he was a 32nd degree Mason. Pat and Don grew up in the Choctaw area and after they married, made their home and raised their sons in Choctaw. They were very much a part of the "Old Choctaw" community. Don will be remembered for his jokes, silliness and great sense of humor. Typical of his shenanigans, he died six years to the day the love of his life, Pat, died. Both of their stones will read October 13. He was a man well loved by all who knew him. Services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 18, 2005, at the First United Methodist Church, Choctaw, Oklahoma. 

Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Choctaw, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith-Parks Funeral Service, Harrah, OK.

SHELBY, Patricia Marie "Pat" Shelby, 77, of Luther, passed from this life Wednesday, October 13, 1999 at Midwest Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 16, 1999 at First United Methodist Church, Choctaw, OK, with interment at Elmwood Cemetery, Choctaw, OK directed by Asa Smith Funeral Service. 

Patricia was born, in Larned, Kansas, to John and Marie Womack on November 24, 1921. She moved to Choctaw in 1935 from OKC, OK. She was a homemaker. She was a chairman of The Democratic Party for Eastern Oklahoma County, district 94. She was an election board inspector for 30 years (1950-1980). She organized and was President of the Choctaw Civic Club. She was a member of The Choctaw Methodist Church, The Methodist Women's Club and choir. She assisted funding for building the Choctaw Community and Senior Centers. She was a voracious reader, and she supported all school activities. 

Patricia's husband, Donald Shelby, of the home, four sons Don Shelby and wife Joy of Oklahoma City, Paul Shelby and wife Barbara of Choctaw, Gary Shelby and wife Linda of Choctaw, Eric Shelby of Luther, two sisters Jean Brown and husband Bill, Mary Sue Mitchell and husband James, one brother Ed Womack and wife Shirley, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends survive her. 

She is preceded in death by two brothers Richard James, and John David Womack.
