RAY William Grayson , born August 19, 1913, Gilmer, Texas. Graduated from Hardin-Simmons University. While there was a member of Hardin-Simmons Cowboy Band. Upon graduation went to work for Mobil Oil Company, later moving to Oklahoma City in 1951 as District Landman. Retired after 40 years in 1974 as District Land Manager responsible for Mobil's land function in 26 states and off-shore Atlantic.

After retirement, he established an office as an independent oil man. Grayson Ray was a charter member o f the American Association of Petroleum Landmen. In 1970 he received the "Citizen Award for Distinguished Service'' from AAPL. He was an honorary life member of the University of Oklahoma Chapter of Petroleum Land Management, and was instrumental in helping establish the curriculum and scholarship programs for the O.U. Petroleum Land Management School.

As a member of the First Baptist Church, he served on the Board of Deacons over 30 years; was a member and past director of the Downtown Rotary Club; a past president of the Petroleum Club; and was active in both the YMCA and Men's Dinner Club. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mona Pritchard Ray , in 1979. In 1983 he married Frances Dunlap. Other survivors include a brother, Glenn Ray of Tyler, Texas, and two daughters, Mrs. William W. Rodgers of Blackwell, Ok., and Mrs. Jack M. Graves of OKC, and eight grandchildren.

Memorial gifts may be made to the First Baptist Church ""Keeping the Vision Alive'', 1201 N. Robinson, OKC 73103.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 2 p.m. in the Louise Pritchard Chapel at First Baptist Church with interment in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements by Hahn-Cook/Street and Draper.
