Dorothy Louise Jones was born to Tom and Lillie Jones on August 20, 1920. She passed from this world on March 14, 2009. At an early age, she moved with her family to Blair, Oklahoma. Dorothy graduated from high school there. During World War II, she tested for employment in the Civil Service and passed. She received notice to go to Washington, D.C. to work in the War Department, which is now the Pentagon.

She returned to Oklahoma when her father became ill. She worked many years for the Home Insurance Company. She was a valued employee with many responsibilities until her retirement in 1983. Dorothy was a member of Wickline United Methodist Church in Midwest City, Oklahoma. She volunteered at the church for many years, and was a regular member until her health failed in 2004. After a year in assisted living, she moved to the Health Care Center, Southpark, until her death. Her family was the love of her life. She was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Lillie Jones; a brother, Thomas Bernard Jones; and a sister, Cornelia Gilchrist. She is survived by her brother, Wilbur Lloyd Jones and his wife Bee Jones, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Bill Eisenhour Southeast Chapel with interment to follow at Arlington Memory Gardens Cemetery in Oklahoma City.
