Clyde Raymond Hoagland , age 97, went to be with our Lord on January 21, 2009. He was born on October 19, 1911, to Alma and G.R. Hoagland in Sapulpa, Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma Military Academy in Claremore for two years and then the University of Oklahoma where he studied Geology.

He married Lucille Scott in 1935 and they moved to Oklahoma City where he was a geologist with Ellison Oil Company until the 1960's. Clyde did geological consulting work well into his eighties. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City for over 60 years and a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Clyde was a loving husband, a wonderful father and a faithful friend. We have all been blessed by this gentle soul.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Lucille and his brother, Lloyd Hoagland.

He is survived by his son, John and wife Pat of Okemah; daughter, Mary Sinclair and husband Doug of OKC; grandchildren, Keith Hoagland and wife Colleen of Nashville, TN, Ben Sinclair and wife Carley and Dave Sinclair of OKC; and two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Raquel Hoagland of Nashville; three step-grandsons, Chris, Cliff and David Dixon and their families; sister, Betty Ross of Edmond; six nieces and nephews; and wonderful longtime friends. The family would like to thank the staff at the Manchester House for their loving care during the last four years and also Dr. Conrady and his staff for their wonderful care. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City or the OMRF-Alzheimer's Research.

Services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, January 24, 2009, at the Resurrection Memorial Cemetery Chapel.
