Miller E. Brown, 87, of Tecumseh, Okla. passed away Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004 at Tecumseh. He was born July 6, 1917 at Monroe to W.D. and Stella (Miller) Brown. He lived in the Oklahoma City/Moore area for several years and lived in Sherman, Texas for a short time before moving to Tecumseh in 1978. He attended Monroe High School. He married Dorothy McDonald in El Reno on Aug. 19, 1959. He served with the United States Marines during World War II in Iwo Jima and Guam.

He was in the construction business. He owned sand companies in Oklahoma City, as well as the Ozark Pioneer Construction Co., Silver Recovery & Refining, and Storm Master, Inc. He retired in the early 1980s. He enjoyed children and fishing at Port Aransas, Texas, and later at Eufaula. He also enjoyed hunting.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Charlene Brown; a daughter-in-law, Eddie Jones; a grandson, Jason Jones; two brothers, Carl and Vallie; and three sisters, Vola Gober, Vassie Brown and Grace Turner.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Brown of the home; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Donna Brown of Tecumseh, Rickey and Deborah Brown of Norman, and Earl Jones of Newalla; two daughters and one son-in-law, Joy and Terry Armstrong of Tuttle and Patricia Brown of Oregon; a sister-in-law, Edna Brown of Poteau; 14 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12 in Sunny Lane Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
