Harry F. Austin Dies at Oklahoma City After Illness

Harry E. Austin, former El Dorado businessman, died last night at Oklahoma City after a long illness. He was 67.

Mr. Austin was born at Knoxville, Tenn., Sept. 14, 1890, and came to El Dorado in 1920. He was employed as sales manager for the McClure Motor Company more than 27 years and later operated his own business - The El Dorado Motor company - for two years before moving to Oklahoma City in October, 1950.

He was married to Josephine Rohrbaugh here on June 14, 1922. She died in 1941. On July 27, 1944, he married Mildred Schroeder. Mrs. Austin survives.

Mr. Austin was a member of the Methodist church, American Legion, El Dorado Rotary Club and was a Mason.

Among the survivors are a daughter, Mrs. M. C. Tate, Oklahoma City, a sister, Mrs. Ethel Sterchi, LaMarque, Texas and two grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Dietz-Pittman Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dr. O. Ray Cook, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Lawns cemetery.

Services Held for Harry E. Austin

Services for Harry E. Austin, 67, former El Dorado automobile dealer who died Wednesday at Oklahoma City, were held at 2 p.m. today in the Dietz-Pittman Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Dr. O. Ray Cook, pastor of the First Methodist church conducted. Burial was in Sunset Lawns.

"The Old Rugged Cross" and "Sunrise" were sung by the vocalist, Mrs. Fred Burr. She was accompanied by Mrs. Amos Marsh at the organ.

Pallbearers were Clifford Angleton, Walter Kunkle, John North, Rudolph Sandberg, Wilbur Morris and Sam Thompson.

Honorary pallbearers were Ed Morris, DeWitt Morris, L. M. Burns, Harold Long, Theodore Hudson and M. C. McClure.
