The year 1997 is almost over, and I feel that we have had a very suddessful year. We have had exciting programs that are helpful. Now we must start planning for next year. In the future we must include computers as a means of research. With the gigantic amount of information we can reap from CD's and THE WEB (on line) we need to acquire a more up to date computer. This we are now trying to accomplish, and it will go on into next year.
Christy Siemsen gave the program for the July meeting, it included a lot of information that is available on computers, the CD's and the great amount of information in assorted areas. The program for August was presented by our Assistant District Attonry, Don Brown, concerning the laws of cemeteries. What and how to select a genealogical program for your computer was the subject of the September program, presented by Christie Siemsen. Every one of these programs were so exciting, htere were questions with answers and lots of discussion on every subject.
I am happy to report that our volunteers in the library are getting organized, and we hoope to do better as we get more CD's. We do want to have a more advanced computr so it can handle the software we need.
With plans like this, the new year will be a challenge for us all.
Happy Holidays to you all.
