MRS. ROSELLtE HUFFMAN

WOODWARD. Services were Wednesday afternoon in the Mutual Christian church for Mrs. Rosellie Huffman, 82, who homesteaded a claim southeast of Woodward 51 years ago. Her death occurred in Montana, where she was visiting a daughter.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Nellie Clark, of Grass Range, Mont,; Mrs. Lewis T. Morgan, of Mutual; two sons, Robert B. Huffman, of Sharon, and S. C. Huffman, of Mutual, and a brother, Frank Archer Los Angeles.

Boise City Parents Told Son Is Dead

WOODWARD, May 23.--(Special,)—Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Barrick of Boise City have been notified that their son, Ralph Vincent Barrick, has been declared dead. He disappeared together with another seaman while serving aboard ship on April 8, 1945, during a severe storm. Barrick had served over six years and in almost all areas during the war.

Aged Woodward Pioneer Is Buried

WOODWARD, Jan. 30-(Special,)—Funeral services were here Tuesday for Mrs. Jane Gillette-Chase, 85, mother of 11 children.

At the opening of the Strip in 1893, she came with her husband to Okla­homa and took a claim near Meno in what is now Major county. They lived there until 1905 when they moved to a farm west of Supply. After Mr. Chase's death in 1917, Mrs. Chase and her three youngest children reremained on the farm two years, then came to Woodward to make their home.

Survivors include 11 children; Mrs. C. Pierce Parks and A. J, Chase, Woodward; Mrs. J. C. Mason, Fort Supply; Lewis A. Chase and Mrs. J. E. Leierer, Meno; Mrs, W. G. Marsh, Cherokee; A, G. Chase, Hominy; Mrs. L. B. Conner and Ray Chase, Farmswortoh, Tesas; Ira I. Chase, Wenatchee, Wash., and Mrs. H. B. Grant, Denver, Colo.

Rites Held For Mrs. McKenna At Woodward

WOODWARD. Services for Mrs. Florence McKenna, 77, were Tuesday, with burial Wednesday at Hutchinson, Kan. A native of Charlton county, Mo., she came with her hus band to this vicinity in 1890 and homesteaded a claim near Fargo. They moved to Hutchinson In 1930. She was visiting in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Robert Bunch of Tan­gier, at the time of her death. She is survived also by four other daughters, Mrs. Edith Rankin, Mrs. Bessie Gould, Mrs. Lillian Hartness, all of Hutchinson; and Mrs. Blanche Murray, Way­noka, and four sons, Ted of Waynoka, Kermit of Butler, John of Dodge City, Kan,. and Andrew of Hutchinson.
