November 19, 1908

Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Carter wishes us to thank the neighbors and friends for the help generously extended to them during the sickness and burial of their son, John Marion Carter.

Will Phye and family were in Mooreland Sunday.

***********************

John Marion Carter died at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Carter, six miles northeast of this city, on Saturday Nov. 14, age 20 years, 11 months, and 10 days. The deceased had been sick with typhoid fever for two weeks and it was expected to recover, but a turn in the disease was fatal. The funeral services was held at the family home last Sunday, conducted by Rev. Wayne Mettler and the burial occurred in Enterprise cemetery Sunday. The Woodmen, of which the deceased was a member, had control of the funeral, One of the longest funeral processions ever seen in this county followed the remains to the cemetery. The family have the sincere sympathies of their neighbors and many friends.

Dr. Welch and Mrs. Kate Davis were married in Mooreland, Tuesday and are receiving the congratulations of their many friends.

Dr E. E. Flagg and Mrs. Ella Welch of Mooreland were married one day the past week.
