Fred Mitchell, a young man about twenty years of age arrived here from Garfield county Tuesday 6th on a visit to his grandfather and two little brothers and Thursday night he took sick with what was supposed to be tonsillitis, he having had trouble with his tonsils previous to coming here and Monday a doctor was called in and pronounced his case serious, his tonsils being so badly swollen that the doctor could not make a thorough examination. Tuesday night he died and the following day the doctor came and examined him and pronounced it diphtheria. Since his death his two little brothers and tow of Elmer Redmonds children have taken down with diphtheria. Mr. and Mrs. John Lawson has three of the children at their home taking care of them, with Dr. Myers attending.
