THE CURTIS COURIER

Mrs Frank Laswell died on Wednesday morning. The funeral services were held in Chick school house and the remains interred at Mooreland. She leaves a husband, two children, father, mother and hosts of friends. The family have the sympathy of all their acquaintances.

William Phye is one of the new subscribers of the Courier, the paper that warns the people of every graft possible.

Mr. and Mrs Harry Castle are proud parents of a new boy.

May 21, 1908
Lucy Alexander the eight year old daughter of Mr and Mrs J. E. Alexander, died at her home Friday evening about 10 o’clock of sicatic rheumatism and other complications. She took sick Monday evening and grew worse until death relieved her of terrible suffering. She was unconscious from Thursday. the little body was buried in the Mooreland cemetery, Saturday evening. She leaves a father, mother, two sisters and three brothers besides numerous little schoolmates, and will be greatly missed by all.
Weep not that her toils are over,
Weep not that her race is run:
God grant that we may rest as calmly,
When our work like her’s is done.
Till then we yield with gladness, Our little friend to Him to keep.
And rejoice in the sweet assurance,
He gaveth His loved one sleep.

June 4, 1908
Mrs. Etta Smith, wife of Haray E Smith, died at her late home near Pearl on May 27, leaving a husband, six children, one of which was only four days old, her parents, Geo. N. Miller and wife, other relatives and friends to mourn their great loss. The funeral was held the next day, attended by a great concorse of mourning relatives and friends. The family have the sympathies of a large circle of friends.

June 11, 1908
Del Jeffers and Miss Ethel Nickerson were married Sunday. Both are well known and highly respected by all and have the best wishes of their many friends.

June 18, 1908
The infant son of Mr and Mrs Bert Rhoads died at the family home in Mooreland, Monday, aged 7 months. The parents have the sympathies of their many friends.
