From The Desk Of The President

Fellow Genealogists:

I want to thank you for showing your confidence in my, by re-electing me as your President again this year. We are planning to have an interesting and challenging year for all of us.

I trust that you all have had a great Holiday season. The weather has been unusually warm for Christmas and New Years, must be a gift from Mother Nature to all of us.

The speaker for the October program was unable to be there, so Christy Siemsen filled in for her, giving us an understanding of School Records, where to find them, and what they contain. Also encluding some history of Woodward County Schools.

Officers for 1997 were installed at the November meeting. Also at the meeting our annual party was held as we discussed programs and projects for 1997.

The Genealogy Seminar, Janurary 4, 1997 was a great success. Dr. Arlene Eakle is very knowledgeable in tracing family trees. We were all captivated with her energy and enthusiasm. With all her suggestions and new ideas to search, I think everyone went home with new energy and knowledge for better and more improved research.

Holly Hansen was Dr. Eakle's assistant, and not until I got to visit with her died I realize that she too is very apt in Genealogy. She is getting her degree in Genealogy and Library Science in college. She had to be back in school the following Monday.

A very informative and magnificent 1997 to all of you.

Your President
Delores Lahr
