BURRIS Family Reunion

May 25, 2003
Sallisaw Civic Center  --  Sallisaw, Oklahoma

Isaac Burris (1820-1897) lived and died in Burris Valley,
Jack Fork County, (now Pittsburg County),
Choctaw Nation, Indian Territory.

Known children:
Turner Burris, married Ella Jordan
Sidney Burris, married Molsey
Lucy Burris, married Morris Impson

All descendents and related family lines are invited to join us
on Sunday, May 25, 2003, at the Civic Center in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
Doors open around 9 a.m.  Lunch is potluck.

New genealogy information has been located since last year,
but there are still lots of unanswered questions. 
Bring your pictures, your stories, and your family information,
and help us fill in the blanks.

HOWELL Family Reunion

Descendants of Pleasant & Sarah Barns Howell
&
Descendants of Robert & Dorothy Briggs Howell

Where: Lake Eufaula, OK

When: July 25, 26, 2003

Pleasant Howell was born in TN circa 1828, married Sarah Barns in Roane Co., TN on June 1, 1845. Sarah and the children lived in Polk Co., TN from at least 1870 on. Four of their 10 children later settled in NE Texas and all over Oklahoma, specifically in Bryan, Lincoln, and McIntosh County. Many descendants now live in Garvin, McClain, Osage, and Tulsa Counties.

Robert Henry Howell of VA settled in TN after 1916, with his wife, Dorothy Briggs Howell. He was a brick mason and did the brickwork on the Historical Vann House, McNair House, and the Hildebrand House. Robert is buried in the former Moravian Cemetery at the Vann Home in Spring Place, Ga. Several of his descendant settled in TX and Oklahoma. Many lived in the Brooken area of Haskell County, OK.

Meeting place:
The Highway 9 Landing Picnic/Campground. We will be meeting in the campground picnic shelter.

Directions:
From Highway 40, take 69 South to Eufaula.
From Eufaula, OK: Go approximately 9 miles east on Highway 9.
From Stigler, OK: Go 22 miles west on Highway 9.

Reunion Activities
Friday evening, July 25th -- get acquainted social, Lake Eufaula Campground, Spaces N20 and N21.

Saturday morning, July 26, at the Group Shelter/Picnic area, 9:00 ish until ? -- join us for donuts/pastries and coffee/tea/juice and visiting. We will distribute the Reunion T-shirts before lunch. Be sure to bring your genealogy and photos! We will have 2 laptops (one with a CD burner), a scanner, printer and copier available, and will share information and discuss our research. Be sure and bring some blank floppy disks or CD's for saving/copying files and pics. We will also have door prizes and such throughout the day. Oh, and don't forget, we will be taking LOTS of pictures, so smile!

Sometime between 1:00 and 2:00 we will have lunch prepared for everyone. Please remember to bring a covered dish. After that we will continue our genealogy discussions and then late afternoon (5:00ish or so), for those interested, we will visit the nearby Brooken Cemetery where most of the Robert Howell descendants from the area are buried. We will also visit the Mellette and Greenwood cemeteries close to Eufaula where many of the Pleasant Howell descendants are buried. If time allows, we may also visit the town of Eufaula.

We have the Group Shelter/picnic area reserved until 10:00 p.m.

LEQUIRE Community Reunion

The last Saturday of September, Lequire, Haskell County, Oklahoma
will be hosting their community reunion in the Lequire Fire Station. 

Time will be from 10:30 A.M. until 2 P.M. 

If you have ever lived or have friends or relatives in Lequire or the surrounding area, please attend.

MARBLE CITY, OKLAHOMA Reunion

The Town of Marble City, Oklahoma is celebrating its centennial
October 11, 2003 with a homecoming and town reunion.

The day will get off to a good start with a fund raiser breakfast
followed by an Indian Taco lunch at City Hall
provided by the Marble City Historical Society for a fee. 

There will be all day city wide yard sales, lots of fun activities,
a horse race, gospel music, a sign dedication,
and in the evening there will be a free barbeque with country music. 

If you ever lived in Marble City or have family or friends
who have lived there, please attend.

The O'Bannon, Browning, and Stidham families and related lines

Annual Ryburn/Brand reunion will be held
on Saturday, May 17, 2003

at Lake Wister State Park at the Hamilton Family Center.

Arrive early and plan for a full day of family enjoyment!
The doors will open at around 9 A.M.

The main meal will be about noon.

WARD Family Reunion

The Bryant Ward Descendants will hold a reunion
at the Grove Community Center, in Grove, OK
on September 27, 2003, from 9-12noon,
with cemetery visits during the afternoon.

WHITE Family Reunion

The descendants of Clint & Pearl White
are having their 18th Annual Reunion
at Robbers Cave State Park in Wilburton, Oklahoma,
the first weekend of June 2003. 

The exact dates are May 30 through June 1st.

The children of Clint and Pearl White and Clint's second wife Frances Vanderbilt White have held this reunion every year since 1986. Clint White is the son of George Washington White and Montia Lenora Orr who were both pioneers of the State of Oklahoma.  Pearl Elizabeth Ingram White is the daughter of William Welch & Mettie Elizabeth Ingram who were also pioneers of the State of Oklahoma.

The following children of Clint and Pearl White have made sure this reunion is full of fun and fellowship:

WOODALL Family Reunion

Sunday, June 22, 2003
in Allen, Oklahoma
at the Allen Alumini Center on Broadway St.

We wish to include any descendants of the Woodall family,
the children of Sousan Hearn Woodall,
children of Paschal Marion Woodall, and Mary Magdline Babbitt Woodall.

This reunion is presented by the descendants of
Weltha Malinda Johnson Woodall and Thomas Phillip Woodall.

Location is the Allen Alumini Center starting at 10:00.
