The Native American Research Project is intended to provide a place where those with special interest in Native American families from Kingfisher County and surrounding areas may share their genealogical findings. These may include records of any kind, including census records, birth, marriage, and death records, and land records.

If you would like to share your research, please send your information to me at [email protected], with "NATIVE AMERICAN RESEARCH PROJECT" in the subject line. (If you send your information as an attachment, please be sure that it is in .txt format.)

Query: Arthur Lee GRANT

A Vietnam Veteran friend asked me to do some research for his wife, Linda. Linda's Father was of Cherokee / Araphoe descent.

Arthur Lee Grant, DOB: June 9, 1906 and DOD: Dec. 18, 1968. His BIA card ID No. is 123-30.

Arthur's parents were Father, Samuel M. Grant. DOB: Feb. 2, 1876. POB: DeQueen, Ark. and Mother, Charity Evaline Grant, data unk.

Siblings of Arthur Lee Grant were Lillian May Grant DOB: 10-10-1901, and Pearl O. Grant 01-24-1910. Children of Arthur Lee and Vira G. Grant were Wayne Grant DOB: 10-19-1926, Bill Leon Grant DOB: 11-17-1929. Edgar Gaylon Grant DOB: 04-24-1931, Barbara Jean Grant DOB: 06-22-1928, Betty Lea Grant DOB: 02-23-1930, Aubrey Lowell DOB: 11-15-1933.

Linda believes that there is a possiblity that she might be a direct descentant of Sitting Bull (?). Wasn't Sitting Bull Sioux? Anyway, she would like to obtain a "family tree" for her children and Grandchildren. If you cannot help me with this, can you direct me to where I can obtain the aforementioned requested data. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and assistance with this matter.
