Scheihing Rites to be Held Friday
Funeral Services for Charles W. Scheihing, 81, pioneer county retired farmer, will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church.
Rev. Klon Matthews will officiate, assisted by Rev. E. H. Hendrix. Burial will be in Seward Cemetery under direction of the Smith funeral home.
Mr. Scheihing was a member of the Guthrie Lodge 35, A. F. & A. M. and the Knights Templar. Services at the grave will be conducted by members of the city Masonic Lodge.
Pall-bearers will include Jake Davis, Lloyd Knox, Ray Wicks, Hugh Luckinbill, Charley Folz and Allan Kellogg.
Honorary pall-bearers will be Chester Damon, Cleve Bross, Lee Smith, Fred Hulme, James Williams and Henry Dodd.

Friday Services Set for C. W. Scheihing, Pioneer Farmer Here
Charles W. Scheihing, 81, prominent Logan county pioneer, died Wednesday in a Guthrie hospital just nine days after the death of his wife. Mr. and Mrs. Scheihing were married in 1889, came to Guthrie in 1890 and have lived in this community since that time.
Scheihing became ill the night his wife died and was taken to the hospital the following Friday night. Death resulted from a stroke.
While he retired from active farming 18 years ago, he always retained his interest in the cultivation of his farms. He was regarded as a modern farmer and was always willing to try new methods of improving land and stock.
Scheihing was formerly the agricultural agent for the Oklahoma Railway company.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday in the First Presbyterian Church. Rev. Klon E. Matthews, pastor of the United Presbyterian Church, will officiate, assisted by Rev. E. J. Hendrix. Burial will be in Seward cemetery under direction of Smith Funeral home. Masonic services will be conducted at the grave
Active pallbearers will be Hugh Luckinbill, Charles Folz, .Allen Kellogg, Ray Wicks, Lloyd Knox and Jake Davis.
Scheihing was a member of Guthrie lodge No. 35, A. F. and A. M., and the Knight Templars. He was a member of the Lutheran church.
Survivors include his children Henry W. Scheihing, Carl E. Scheihing, Mrs. John Egelston and Mrs. Warren Elliott, all of Guthrie, Walter Scheihing, Ponca City, Rudolph Scheihing, Shawnee, Mrs. Eleanor McKean, Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Vern K. Benson, Dallas, Tex.
