Probably taken from a Guthrie Paper, date unknown:

Hon. Cicero H Allen, member of the house from the 6th representative district (in Oklahoma Territory), was born in Allamance County, North Carolina. He is a decendent from the famous Ethan Allen of Ticonderoga fame. (We have found no evidence whatsoever that he was a direct (or indirect!) decendent of Ethan Allen). He graduated at the Indiana University in 1876, taught school, was in mercantile business, newspaper business politics and law. He was the leading spirit in Oklahoma at the time it became a state. Leaving Oklahoma, he came to Savannah, Mo and began to practice law. With his son John E., he has been in law and loan business here 48 years. He was a man devoted to his family and home. He lived for his wife and children, grand children. They came first always. He was a very successful business man building up his success on honesty and fairness to all. He leaves his wife, 2 sons Ralph of Kansas City; John E. at home, 2 daughters Ethel Hurst of Riverton Wyo and Pearl Wells of Reserve Kansas, 5 grand children, many friends. He united with Quaker church at age of 18 and lived up to that faith all his life. He was a member of Masonic order and Modern Woodmen of the World.

Cicero H. Allen was born in Alamance County, NC, he married Josephine Jessup (daughter of John & Elizabeth Jessup) on April 16-1885 at Rochester, Mo. To them were born five children Ralph, Ethel, Pearl, John and Milton who died in infancy.
