Wanda M. Austin, 80, of Poteau, passed away Oct. 16, 2009 in
Poteau.
She was born March 12, 1929, in Poteau. She was a homemaker
and a member of the First Christian Church in Poteau. She was a
devoted wife and mother who spent her time caring for Brian.
She was preceded in death By her husband, W.C., and her
parents, Guy T. and Ida (Porter) Brown.
She is survived by her son, Brian Keith Austin of Poteau;
sisters, Juanita Peters of Poteau, Anna Creamer of Sapulpa, Ida
Reed of Poteau, Mary Powledge of Granbury, Texas, and Nancy
Montoya of Supulpa; brothers, James R. Brown of Dallas, Texas
and Guy L. “Buddy” Brown of Poteau; and numerous relatives,
friends and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Mark Bovos, Paul Saneman, Ran Hall, and
Sam Gentry.
Services will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. at First
Christian Church in Poteau. Rev. Dennis Jones will be
officiating. Interment will follow at
Oakland Cemetery
in Poteau.Arrangements under the direction of Evans and Miller
Funeral Home, Poteau.
