Funeral services for Brooks Toliver Willingham, 60 years old, a well-known Shady Point farmer, were held at the Baptist church there on January 11, 1941, with the Reverend Donahue officiating. Mr. Willingham died January 10 after an illness of twelve days.

He was born July 6, 1880, in Cains Dist., Gwinnett County, Georgia, to John Kyle and Rebecca Jane (Cain) Willingham. He married Martha Louise Jones on September 24, 1901, in Spiro, LeFlore County, Oklahoma. 

Besides his wife, seven sons survive him: Sanford, Leonard, Lon, Ernest, Virgil, Burl, and Earl.

Interment was at Shady Point Cemetery under the direction of the Hall Funeral Home.

Martha Louisa (Jones) Willingham was born the 6th of July 1883 in Van Buren, Arkansas to Tom and Mary (Edwards) Jones. She died at the age of 85 years on August 12, 1967 in Shady Point, LeFlore County, Oklahoma. 

She was married to Toliver Brooks Willingham, September 24,1901. at Oak Lodge (Spiro) Indian Territory and she was an active member of the Assembly of God Church. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Toliver Brooks and one son Earl of Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Survivors include six loving sons; Sanford, Leonard, Lon, Earnest, Virge, and Burl, 17 Grandchildren and several other Great and Great Great Grandchildren, and one sister Carolyn (Jones) Standridge.

Funeral services were held August 15, 1967 at 2:00 p.m. at the Shady Point, LeFlore County, Oklahoma Baptist Church with Revered E.R. Newby officiating with burial in the Shady Point Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home of Poteau.
