Bill E. Lanoy, 72, of Cowlington, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, in Keota. He was born April 21, 1930 at Coal Hill, Ark. to Alexander and Beulah (Martin) Lanoy. He pastored in the Church of God for 14 years, then pastored in the Independent Holiness Churches for 19 years. He loved to sing and was mayor of Cowlington for eight years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Alice Lanoy; and one brother, Alfred Lanoy.

Survivors include his wife Erma Bee of the home; one daughter, Denise Adams and husband Billy of Panama; two sons, Mickey Lanoy and wife Laquitta of Sallisaw and Paul Lanoy and wife Tammie of Manford; five sisters, Mary Alvarado of Vancouver, Wash., Betty Holter of Shady Point, Rosa Carlson of Roseburg, Ore., Carlia Matthews of San Antonio, Texas and Nina Jeter of Visalia, Calif.; three brothers, James Lanoy of Keota, Bobby Lanoy of Mrytle Creek, Ore. and Roy Lanoy of Hanford, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Mallory Chapel with the Revs. Cotton McKinney and J.B. Bowen officiating. Burial will follow in Old Bokoshe Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.

Pallbearers will be Joe Henderson, Charles Henderson, Dick Aary, W.T. Powell, Billy D. Vincent and W.T. Crutchfield.
