Euneva Weaver Kaylor died last Friday evening, Nov. 9, 2001. She was born to Albert "Doc" and Myrtle Boyd Weaver on Nov. 11, 1910, in Lavaca. In her long and rich life she was a school teacher, postmaster, faithful church member, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. To those who knew her she is remembered as a kind and giving person.

Euneva spent almost her entire 90-year life in Lavaca. After graduating from Lavaca High School in 1929, she attended Arkansas Tech University and received her teaching certificate. During the depression, Euneva taught at Lavaca Schools for three years, helping her family with the expenses of the family farm.

She was married to Avery Kaylor in 1933 and they had two children together, June and Jane. In 1949, Euneva began working alongside her husband Avery, Lavaca's postmaster, as a postal clerk. After the passing of her husband in 1966, she became the postmaster and worked until she retired in 1974. After retirement, she had more time for her talent of sewing, cooking and baking pies for her extended family and friends.

Euneva was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Lavaca for 79 years. She taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school for most of those years. Her strong Christian faith was evident in her everyday life.

She was preceded in death by her brother Jetter Weaver, her two sisters Mary Nell Berkshire and Mauda Mae Seward, her husband Avery, her daughter Jane and her granddaughter Meghan.

She is survived by her sister Elizabeth Berkshire of Barling; daughter June Hardgrave of Lavaca; grandchildren Howard Hardgrave of Fort Smith, Hugh Hardgrave of Lavaca, Beth Hardgrave Teague of El Paso, Texas, Darla Hardgrave Walker of Lavaca and Britton Jennings of Bentonville. She is survived by four great-grandchildren, Hilary and Haley Hardgrave of Lavaca and Hannah and Isaac Hardgrave of Fort Smith.

A memorial service will be held Monday, Nov. 12, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Lavaca. Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund, First Baptist Church of Lavaca.
