Edgar Earl Karl, 62, of Pocola, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2002. He was born Nov. 9, 1939 in Pocola. He was retired from the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer - Engine man - having served for 22 years. He was awarded two Bronze Stars. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Pocola, was president of the Pocola Lions Club, and a member of the Cushman Club of America.

Survivors include his wife Sherry of the home; two daughters, Cilla and Jay Green of Warren, Mich. and Kelly Karl of Fort Smith; two sons, Eddie Karl and Shannon Karl; one stepdaughter, Kathy and Dax Taylor of Pocola; one stepson, Joshua Cockburn of Heavener; grandchildren, Trever Farrar, Shelby and Seth Taylor and Malachi and Chance Gardner; two sisters, Edith Moore of Roland and Dorothy Lyman of Simi Valley, Calif.

Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 5 at Evans Memorial Chapel of Pocola with the Revs. Paul Walker and Richard Maness. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Pocola.

Memorials may be made to the Reynolds Cancer Support House in Fort Smith or to the Lions Club Foundation, P.O. Box 722, Pocola, OK 74902.
