Jack Sherman Himes, 73, of Heavener, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2003, in Poteau. He was a lifetime resident of the area, a veteran of the Korean Conflict, and was of the Baptist faith. He was also a rancher, loved his home and farm and loved to fish and
hunt. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Fern.
Survivors include his wife Kathleen of the home; two stepdaughters, Paula Tuckness of Phoenix, Ariz. and Sandra Angel of Wister; two sons, Terry Himes of Big Cedar and Roger Himes of Heavener; two stepsons, Gordon Slusser of Mesa, Ariz. and Steve Slusser of Heavener; one sister, Vera Hooper of Waxahachie, Texas; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9 at Dowden Funeral Chapel of Heavener. Burial will follow in
Oakdale Cemetery at Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
