Jimmy Don Hicks, 58, of Cameron, died, Saturday, Aug. 28, 1999, at St. Edwards Hospital in Fort Smith.
He was born Dec. 10, 1940, in Williams. He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior
in April 1952. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Cameron and a member of Garfield Masonic Lodge 569 in Hammond, Ind. He was a former employee of Inland Steel Mills in Hammond and a long-haul truck driver before establishing Poteau Radiator Shop.
He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Hicks and a nephew, Billy Hicks.
He is survived by three sons, Lane of the home, Clay of Fort Smith, and Marty Humphrey of Shreveport, La.; two daughters, Beverly Thompson of Little Rock, and Charlotte Molton of Bixby; his mother, Bernice Hicks of Poteau; two brothers, Bill Hicks and his wife, Helen of Cameron, and Larry Hicks and his wife Cindy, of Lenexa, Kans.; one sister, Jan Carroll and her husband, Johnny, of Oolagah; seven grandchildren; one uncle, Floyd Spicer of Poteau; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 30, at 2 pm at First Baptist Church in Cameron with burial at
Oakland Cemetery in Poteau.
Rev. Everett Morris and Rev. Charles Carry officiated.
Arrangements were under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home in Poteau.
