Candice Brianne Hassell, 19, of Spiro, passed away Friday, April 19, 2002, in Muskogee. She was born Nov. 15, 1982 at Fort Smith to Mark and Brenda (Hilbern) Hassell. She was a student at CASC in Poteau. She was secretary of Student Government Association of CASC, Bacchus Provisional Member of Phi Beta Kappa, writer for Viking Banner and Intermemeral Sports Photographer.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Wayne and Mary Sue Hassell and George Hilbern.
Survivors include her parents, of Spiro; one brother, David Wayne Hassell of Spiro; aunts and uncles, Larry Hilbern and wife Rita, Rada Dotson and husband Joe, Sheila Pulice and Linda Remer; 12 cousins, Crystal Hilbern, Angelia Mizell, Julie, Kimberly Black, Stephanie Dotson, Chris Dotson, Cassondra Pulice, Jennifer Pulice, Luigi Pulice, Carly, Grace and Maggie Remer; and her maternal grandmother, Betty Hilbern of Talihina.
Services will be at 2 pm Tuesday, April 23 at the Spiro First Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Lamp officiating. Burial will follow in
New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home of Spiro.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Jones, Jeff Janish, Jake Goss, Nick Grant, Joe Kiger and Nick Hutchison.
