Melvin Leonard Gregg, 80, of Poteau, passed away Friday, May 3, 2002, in Fort Smith, Ark. He was born June 26, 1921.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a contractor in the construction business.
He was preceded in death by his wife Beatrice Gregg; his daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Charles Brown; and one grandson, Paul Gregg.
Survivors include one son, Phillip Gregg of Norman; four grandchildren, Bradley, Carrie, Chuck and Chad; two sisters, Kathleen Villicana of Oklahoma City and Louise Dodge of Rohnert Park, Calif.; and one brother, Charles Gregg of Poteau.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 8 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with the Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Burial will follow in
Oakland Cemetery in Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
Beatrice Gregg, 77, of Poteau, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2002, in Henryetta. She was born Dec. 5, 1924.
Mrs. Gregg was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Waymon and Lula (Shackelford) Hill; and two brothers, Albert Hill and Harlin Hill.
Survivors include her husband Leonard of the home; one son, Phillip Gregg of Norman; five grandchildren; one sister, Margie Mae Gwin of Poteau; two brothers, Truman Hill and Vincent Hill, both of Howe; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.
Services will be at 10 a.m. in the Sherman Floyd Fieldhouse in Poteau Thursday, March 7 with the Rev. Jimmy D. Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Poteau under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
