SHADY POINT, OKLA - David Andrew "Monk" Goodson Jr., 56, of Clinton, passed away Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002. He was
born Aug. 12, 1946 at Panama to David Andrew Goodson Sr. and Betty Kathryn Burdick Goodson.
He was raised in Tulsa, graduating from Will Rogers High School in 1964, attended Northeastern State University
before entering the U.S. Navy, where he served on the U.S.S. Cochrane and was honorably discharged as a
disabled veteran. After returning to the Tulsa area he worked with his father in the auto body repair business
for some time. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, loved to water ski, mess with horses and play
the steel guitar.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his son, David Andrew Goodson III; a grandson, Bryce Verones of Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, Reta
Goodson and her husband, Duane Archuleta of Tulsa; several aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and loved
ones; and a host of beloved friends.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28 at Shady Point Cemetery under the direction of Evans
& Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.

CLINTON, Okla. - David Andrew Goodson Jr., 56, of Clinton died Saturday, Sept. 21, 2002, in a Clinton hospital. He was born Aug. 12, 1946, in Panama.
He grew up in Tulsa and graduated from Will Rogers High School in 1964.
He attended Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla. He was a Navy veteran, serving aboard the USS Cochrane. He worked in his father's auto body repair business in Tulsa. He was a member of Disabled Veterans. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shady Point Cemetery in Shady Point under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
He is survived by his son, David Andrew Goodson III; a sister, Reta Goodson of Tulsa; and a grandson.
