Orville O. Goins, 62, of Panama died Monday, Sept.
6 [1999], in Panama.
He was born Jan. 4, 1937, in Poteau to Otto and Ola Mae (Sherfield) Goins. He was a member of the Panama Church of Christ. Goins was an employee of the Panama Middle School for 15 years.
He known as a hard working man, not only on his job but also as a "handy man" for many dear friends.
His parents, a sister, Levenia Newell of California, and a brother, Larry Goins of Panama, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Bettye Louise Simmons Goins of the home; two sons, Phillip Lee Goins of Oxford, Ala., and Brandon Thomas Layne Goins of the home; six sisters, Lola Seaton and Pauline Cox of Williams, Evelyn Hanna of Cameron, Ethylene Covey of Shady Point, Sue Hensley of Panama, Linda Goins of Panama; four brothers, Arnold Goins of Panama, Howard Goins of Panama, Bill Goins of Poteau, David Goins of Poteau; and one grandson, Brandon T.L. Goins of Panama.
Memorial services will be 2 pm, Wednesday, Sept. 8, at the Panama High School Gymnasium with Mr. Sonny Duncan officiating. A private family committal service will be held at
Fairview Cemetery in Panama at a later date. Services are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home in Poteau.
