Samuel Lafayette Doyle was born on January 21, 1841 in Gasconde County, Missouri died January 29, 1911 in Heavener, Oklahoma. Sam was the son of Farmer and Mary Polly Newberry-Doyle of Maries County, Missouri. Samuel married Anna Ezell and to this union six children were born, Samuel Lafayette "Lath", George Thomas, Susan Ann, James V, John H. and Mary Jane. 

Sam's first wife Anna died and he married Julia Woods of Reichert, Oklahoma.
