Vada Dowell
POTEAU - Vada Lou Dowell, 72, of Poteau died Monday, Feb. 21, 2000, in Fort Smith. She graduated from Heavener High School and worked as a telephone operator from 1947 until her retirement as chief operator for Alltel Telephone Co. after 43 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Poteau, a Sunday school teacher, choir member and member of the Rocking Ages and Poteau Rebekah Lodge.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Poteau with burial at
Hodgen Cemetery in Hodgen under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
She is survived by one sister, Vida Hubbard of Poteau; one brother, Willie Dowell of Poteau; two sisters-in-law, Roghnee Dowell Akin of Hodgen and Della Dowell.
