Reba Jean Dewey, 75, of Lavaca died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, in a Fort Smith hospital. She was born March 11, 1927, in Tecumseh, Okla. She retired from Bost School in Fort Smith and was a member of First Baptist Church in Lavaca. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Andy and Ola Underwood Ray.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lavaca First Baptist Church, the Revs. Grant Ethridge and Joe Hobbs officiating, with burial at Oak Valley Cemetery south of Lavaca under the direction of Smith Mortuary of Charleston.
She is survived by her husband, Arnold of the home; three daughters, Charlotte and son-in-law, Jeff Billinger of Dallas, Debbie and son-in-law, Phyl Brinkley of Maumelle and Karen and son-in-law, Larry Fielder of Guy; two sons, Tom Dewey and daughter-in-law, Kendra of Poteau and Philip Dewey and daughter-in-law, Gail of Farmington; a sister, Irma Andrews of Lavaca; and 16 grandchildren.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
