James C. Callicoatt

The graveside service for James C. Callicoatt will be at 10 a.m. today at Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Mr. Callicoatt, 81, of Grants Pass, died Sunday (Sept. 2, 2001) at his home at Spring Village Assisted Living in Grants Pass.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association, 2860 State St., Medford, OR 97504.

He was born July 10, 1920, in Cowlington, Okla. On Nov. 18, 1940, in Haskell, Okla., he married Betty Jo Mascho, who survives. They moved to Grants Pass from Southern California in 2000.

Mr. Callicoatt was an automotive technician for many years, owning and operating his own shop.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Mr. Callicoatt was a member of the American Legion and the Lions Club.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, gardening, country music and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Don, Grants Pass; two daughters, Carol Milam, Palos Verdes, Calif., and Debbie Hughes, Moorpark, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
