Mary Park Brown, 70, of Oklahoma City, passed away Tuesday, June 4,
2002. She was born Feb. 4, 1932 in Fayetteville, Ark. to Thadeus Warsaw
and Lyda Mae (Jones) Park.
Her family moved to Wister when she was a child; she graduated Wister
High School 1948 where she played on the Wister Lady Wildcat's
basketball team. She lived in several railroad towns before moving to El
Reno in 1960 where she lived until moving to Yukon in 1973 and later to
Oklahoma City in 1979. She was active in fund raising for the Arthritis
Foundation and the America Heart Association. She had worked for the Joe
Esco Tire Co. as a billing clerk and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Houston
Columbus Park.
Survivors include her husband Leland Brown of the home; one daughter
and son-in-law, Deborah Adamson and Paul Shell of Oklahoma City; one
son, Philip Adamson of Oklahoma City; her daughter-in-law, Tami Adamson
of Oklahoma City; her brother, Charley Park and wife Adele of Florida;
one sister, Alice Overton of Las Vegas, Nev.; nine grandchildren,
Melanie Brooks and husband Dennis of Yukon, Amanda Johnson and friend
Brian McVey, Chrissy Carr and friend George Wilson, Jessica Shell,
Graham Shell, Rachael Shell, Megan Adamson, Geoffrey Adamson and Trevor
Adamson, all of Oklahoma City; four great-grandchildren, Noel Scott,
Julian Johnson, Devin Wilson and Kelli Piper Cowns; special friends,
Mark and LeMinh Delafleur of Hanoi, Vietnam; many nieces, nephews, great
nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday, June 7 at the Wilson Funeral
Home Chapel in El Reno. Burial will follow in Yukon Cemetery under the
direction of Wilson Funeral Home of El Reno.
