Birmingham (AL) News

Braddy, Mr. Thomas C. "Dugan", age 74, of Alabama, died July 13, 1999.

He was in the restaurant business for 33 years. Owner of El Gringo in Childersburg. He was a WWII Veteran.

Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5:30-8:00 pm. Chapel service Friday, July 16th at 2:00 pm with burial in Forest Hill.

Survivors: wife, Betty [Easter] Braddy; son, James Larry Braddy of Birmingham; daughters, Brenda Gilbert of Chalkville, Naysa Gallups of Wilsonville, and Tina Dillashaw of Pelham; stepchildren, David Godsey of Alabaster and Johnny Easter of Birmingham, Linda Wadsworth of R.I., and Teresa McFrancis of Chalkville; six grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; sister, Doris Burkhalter of Birmingham. Ridout's Roebuck Chapel is directing.

NOTE: The obit did not mention Dugan being survived by his children's mother, the former Betty Jean Bevill. She also was born and raised in Shady Point and was married to Dugan for at least 25 years.

Like my mother, Donna Braddy Blakeney, who preceded her brother in death by six months, Dugan loved his Oklahoma birthplace more than any other place on earth. We miss them both dearly.
