Samuel Bledsoe is the son of Isaac Wilson and Susan (Johnson) Bledsoe

George Bledsoe was born December 14, 1920 in Bokoshe (LeFlore County) Oklahoma. He passed away March 12, 1995 Muskogee (Muskogee County) Oklahoma. He was the son of Sam and Mary (Smith) Bledsoe.  

Service held from graveside at Buffington Cemetery, March 15, 1995 at 2:00 pm Clergyman Rev. Curtis Bias. Buried in Buffington Cemetery West of Sallisaw, Oklahoma under the direction of Agent funeral home of Sallisaw-Muldrow, Oklahoma.

 

Burt Paul Bledsoe was born July 30, 1919, in LeFlore County, Oklahoma, the son of Sam and Mary (Smith) Bledsoe.

He is survived by his wife, Edith H. Bledsoe; one daughter, Linda Curry, Oklahoma City; five sons, Ed Bledsoe, Oklahoma City, Jim, Jerry, and Rick Bledsoe, all of Sallisaw, and Ronnie Bledsoe, Fort Smith, Arkansas; 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Interment was at Buffington Cemetery, west of Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Agent Funeral Home of Sallisaw-Muldrow was in charge.

 


Edith Helen Bledsoe 75, of Sallisaw died Wednesday, May 19, 1999, in Sallisaw. She was born February 11, 1924. She was the daughter of Joseph and Bernadette (Schiffman) Higdon. She was the wife of the late Bert Paul "Red" Bledsoe.

She was a LPN at Sparks Regional Medical Center Surgical ICU. And a loving Mother and Grand Mother.

Funeral will be 11am Friday at Agent Funeral Home Chapel of Sallisaw with cremation under the direction of Agent Funeral Home Chapel of Sallisaw. 

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Curry, Oklahoma City; five sons, Ed Bledsoe, Oklahoma City, Jim, Jerry, and Rick Bledsoe, all of Sallisaw, and Ronnie Bledsoe, Fort Smith, Arkansas; 18 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Lela (Bledsoe) May

Graveside services for Lela MAY, of Sallisaw were held at 10 am Monday at Drakestand Cemetery, with the Rev. Robert Maxwell officiating. Mrs. MAY was born Nov. 7, 1911, in Bokoshe, to Sam and Mary (Smith) Bledsoe. She died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, in Vian. 

Survivors include one daughter, Wanda; two sons, Bill and Robert; one sister, Dayda; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. May was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman May one June 20, 1998; and five brothers, Bert Bledsoe, Harlan Bledsoe, Edward Bledsoe, George Bledsoe and Sonny Bledsoe. Arrangements were under the direction of Mallory Funeral Home in Sallisaw.


Sherman May 

Graveside services for Sherman May, 90, of Sallisaw were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Drakestand Cemetery south of Sallisaw, with the Rev. Terry Guthrie officiating.

Mr. May was born Feb. 19, 1908, in Kibler, Ark. to W. M. and Kathryn (BRODIE) May. He died Saturday, June 20, 1998, at Sequoyah Memorial Hospital in Sallisaw. His wife was Lela Bledsoe.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Marion; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Bill and Robert and Marian; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, and one sister, Irene. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Ella Stinnett, Kathryn Stevenson, Mary Stinnett and Mamie Barger.
