Mary Altie Gamble
Fred Bledsoe, 87 years of age, died in the LeFlore County Nursing Home in Poteau, Oklahoma, on
June 22, 1972. He was born on May 17, 1895, in Crooked Creek, Carroll County, Arkansas. He was the son of Isaac Wilson and Susan (Johnson) Bledsoe. He married Mary Alte Gamble on November 12, 1915, in Latham, LeFlore County, Oklahoma. He was a retired farmer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Altie; one son,
Jack; a grandson,
Stevie Bledsoe; and three sisters, Minnie Bell Summers, Josephine Smith, and Allie Bledsoe.
He is survived by two sons, Cecil and Virgil of Shady Point; three daughters,
Mildred French and Myrtle
Marney, San Jose, California,
Violet Holdridge, Colcord, Oklahoma; brothers Sam of
Mesa Maricopa, Arizona, and William (Bill) McKinley of Marana, Arizona; two sisters, Pearl Dickson, California, and Julie
Wallen.
Burial was in the Shady Point Cemetery on June 24, 1972, under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.

POTEAU - Mrs. Altie Mary Bledsoe, 70, Shady Point, Okla., died Thursday in Fort Smith (Sebastian County) Arkansas.
She was born June 22, 1898 and she died October 31, 1968. She is the daughter of
William and Harriet (Long) Gamble.
Survivors include her husband Fred; three daughters, Mrs. Violet
Holdridge, Colcord, Okla., Mrs.
Mildred French, Santa Clara, Calif., and Mrs. Myrtle
Marney, Campbell, Calif.; three sons, Cecil and Virgil, Shady Point, and Jack, Freemont, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Ellis, Shady Point, and Mrs. Dealie
Christopherson, Vancouver, Wash.; three brothers, Robert Gamble, Panama, Okla., Than Gamble, Des Palos, Calif., and Ira Gamble,
Bokoshe, Okla.; thirty grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
