Cutting Fracas Startles Poteau

Poteau, Okla. May 7 (Special) With three stab wounds to his chest, one located near his heart, Robert Johnson, residing near Somerfield, this county, was found in a road near Somerfield this morning in a critical condition. Forty or fifty feet away Jeff Hickman was found asleep. Hickman was arrested by Sheriff George Noble later in the day and tonight is confined in the county jail here.

Johnson and Hickman, the former a resident of LeFlore, attended a dance last night. They started to Somerfield afoot. Johnson has no recollection of any difficulty and beyond the fact that Hickman was with Johnson there is no evidence against the prisoner.
