Gene Jackson, 77, of Heavener, passed away Monday, May 12, 2003, at Muskogee. He was a lifelong resident of the area, attended the Heavener Church of Christ and was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge, the Oklahoma NAHRO and a member of the election board. He was Heavener's Man of the Year in 2001.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Dempsey Jackson.

Survivors include his wife Richadean; one daughter Jan Elizabeth and husband Rodney Addison of Cordova, Tenn.; one sister, Fairy Anderson of Seattle, Wash.; three grandchildren, Ryan, Lance and Christopher Addison, all of Cordova, Tenn.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14 at Dowden Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener. Cremation services are under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home of Heavener.
