Donald J. Hale, 79, of Shady Point, passed away Sunday, April 6, 2003. He was born Aug. 2, 1923 at Tildon, Neb. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army and worked as a carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Edith (Fichter) Hale.

Survivors include his wife Patricia of the home; two daughters, Patricia Sehi of Elgin, Neb. and Barbara Hale of Burbank, Calif.; two sons, Daniel Hale of Whittier, Calif. and David Hale of San Bernadino, Calif.; four stepdaughters, Diana LeJune of Poteau, LaDaughna Duxbury of Tulsa, Sheila Cantrell of Hartshorne and Carrie Driver of Shady Point; one sister, Dorothy Spahn of Clearwater, Neb.; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.

The family will be at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 9 to visit with relatives and friends.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 10 at Shady Point, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
