Charles "Chuck" Fortner

MULDROW — Charles "Chuck" Fortner, 69, of Muldrow died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, in Fort Smith. He was born May 16, 1933, in Cassville, Mo. He was a veteran of the Korean War, was a Robert S. Kerr Lock and Dam No. 15 operator for 24 years, a former member of board of directors for Rural Water District No. 3 in Sallisaw, a Central High School board member, former Jaycee in Sallisaw, a little league coach and attended First Assembly of God in Muldrow.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at First Assembly of God in Muldrow with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Agent Funeral Home in Muldrow.

He is survived by his wife, Becky; a daughter, Cheryl McCabe of Sallisaw; a son, Joel Fortner of Glenpool, Okla.; a sister, Sue Wallace of Sunnyvale, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Joel Fortner, Michael McCabe, Chris and Mike Carter, Jerry Spessard and Tony Ritchie.

The body may be viewed 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
