Martha Jane Ferguson, 78, of LeFlore, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2003, at Poteau. She was born Nov. 18, 1924 at LeFlore. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved bowling, traveling, collecting, reading and crocheting and loved living in Alaska and Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Ferguson; her parents, Jesse Pete and Ellen Elizabeth Kitchens.

Survivors include one son, Tony Matney of Wister; one grandson, Loren Matney of Anchorage, Alaska; three brothers, J.T. Kitchens of Broken Arrow, James Marion Kitchens of Rushford, Minn. and W.C. Kitchens of Poteau; one sister, Nellie Powers of Wister; special family, Joyce Mixon of Shady Point; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 12 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with the Rev. Jimmy D. Cook officiating, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
