Jeremy L. Covey, 27, of Keota, passed away Friday, May 23, 2003 at Poteau. He was born June 30, 1975 at Poteau. He was a good uncle, brother and son. He was a driller/derrick hand for Alexander Drilling. He liked to ride horses, four wheel and sky dive. He just liked to have fun.

He was preceded in death by Howard McGrath.

Survivors include his parents, Robert and Zelda Mecom of the home and Johnny and Elaine Covey of Panama; two sisters, Jennifer Meeks of Panama and Jeanie Riggs of Panama; one brother, Robert Mecom of Keota; nieces and nephews, Lucas Painter, Gracie Meeks, Braiden Riggs and Rider Meeks; uncles and aunts, Kyle McGrath of Whitefield, Wanda Wix of Tulsa, Roger McGrath of Panama, Carrol McGrath and Mary Jo Roy, both of Spiro; numerous other loved ones; and a host of beloved friends.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 27 at First Assembly of God Church of Panama with the Rev. Joe Atkinson officiating. Burial followed in Cowlington Cemetery under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau.
