Vol. I, Thursday, February 8, 1912 Born to Mr. And Mrs. STARK, out east of town, last Saturday morning, a fine baby girl. Everett GUFFEY Dead We learn, just as we go to press this morning that Everett GUFFEY died early this morning. This comes as a sad shock to the many friends of the family, and we wish to join the people of the community in extending the most heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved ones. [Note: Buried at McKinley Cemetery.] An Early Settler Dies Joe S. REED, colored, an early settler in this part of the country died at his home south of town early Monday morning. He had been in poor health for some time, caused by stomach trouble, and his decease was not unexpected. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon and interment was made in the cemetery three miles northeast of town. Deceased was a prominent member of the colored I.O.O.F. [Note: The cemetery described is Union Hill.] Thursday, February 22, 1912 In Memoriam [sic] Mrs. Dave JARRELL, formerly Miss Jane FITZPATRICK, was born June 20, 1853, in Floyd County, Kentucky. At the age of 18, she married D. C. JARRELL, near Fredonia, Kansas. To this union, six girls and four boys were born. About sixteen years ago she joined the Christian Church and was baptized. She lived a Christian life and was willing to aid her neighbors in any way she could. She was a pioneer of Oklahoma, having settled on the home place in 1889. John T. OWENS, of Guthrie, preached the funeral at her home on Wednesday at 2 p.m., interment being made at the Cooper cemetery. A husband, two sons, three daughters and three sisters survive to mourn their loss. The entire community extends sympathy in this hour of bereavement. [Note: Buried at Cooper Cemetery.] Thursday, April 4, 1912 Mrs. COLLIBERT Dead Mrs. V. E. COLLIBERT died last Sunday morning at the home six miles southwest of Meridian. The remains were shipped to Illinois for interment. She was a native of France, and had been married about four years. R. F. D. One News George KENDALL's baby was taken sick Tuesday morning and Dr. Thurston was called on. The baby died Wednesday. [Note: Probably buried at Cooper, but readable tombstone not found when last surveyed.] Thursday, May 16, 1912 Mrs. STEVENS dead Mrs. Nick STEPHENS died at her home west of town last Tuesday afternoon, at one o'clock. She had been quite sick with kidney trouble for some time. Interment was in Cooper cemetery Wednesday afternoon. We extend our sympathy to the bereaved ones. Thursday, June 20, 1912 Mrs. HYDE Dead Mrs. James L. HYDE died at family home, 5 miles west of Meridian, last Tuesday morning, and was buried at Cooper graveyard at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning.
